Why Tierney is a voice for children fighting cancer:
In my 10 years, I have not lived a day without experiencing a family member who has cancer. Before I was born, my grandfather battled cancer. More recently, my grandmother has been fighting cancer for the last 5 years. I have seen the struggles that my family has faced with my grandmother’s cancer and I can only imagine the toll it takes on families who have a child with cancer. My grandmother has been strong throughout, but I see how hard it has been for her to try and work while receiving cancer treatments.
I am an ambassador for Dance Hope Cure because I want to bring awareness to the need for funding to fight childhood cancer. I want to spread the word for families that are struggling with the daily stresses that cancer brings to them with treatments and also the financial tolls that it takes on them. No child should have to miss out on being a kid because they do not have what they need to fight cancer and everything that comes with it.
