Why McKenzie wants to be a voice for children fighting cancer:
Dance has been my passion since I was a little girl, and my favorite style is lyrical! I love this style because you can tell a story without even speaking! This past year I did a solo for my brother about autism awareness, and it made me feel that the message I was trying to send was getting across. I’m thinking about doing a piece over being bullied, and I think this really goes along with cancer because people are bullied for being bald or sick – even though they can’t help it. Not only do I love to use my voice verbally for things like this, but it’s completely different doing it non-verbally and telling the story while dancing! It breaks my heart to know that dancers just like me are having to go through something so horrible!
