Why Lila wants to be a voice for children fighting cancer:
My name is Lila Slate and I am twelve years old. I have been dancing since I was three. Although I do not have cancer, I was born with a rare vein malformation on the bottom of my foot. I have had many surgeries to correct the malformations, but none have been successful. I am now traveling up to Children’s Vascular hospital in Boston this week to meet with a team to discuss possible better options. In addition, I will be performing a solo dance in honor of good friend, Jewel Thomas who has cancer in her jaw bone. I would be honored to become an ambassador for this important organization.
