Why Kyla wants to be a voice for children fighting cancer:

I would love to be a Dance Hope Cure ambassador! When I was eight years old, my dad was diagnosed with Leukemia. I know how hard it was for him and I know how cancer can affect a whole family. I can’t even imagine how overwhelming it must be for a kid to go though all that. I was so grateful when the doctors found a match for my dad so they could do a stem cell transplant. Since then, I have always felt like I would love to give back in any way I can and think this would be a great opportunity to do that. When my dad was in the hospital, I really feel like dance helped me get through the hard times. When I went to my dance studio, I could focus on my dancing and I didn’t focus on when I would go to see him next or how things would change after this experience. Now my dad is a survivor, and I couldn’t be more grateful to his donor and all the doctors and nurses that helped along the way. I am also very grateful for dance.
