Why Jami wants to be a voice for children fighting cancer:

I want to be a voice for childhood cancer in order to raise awareness for a cause close to my heart. I want to be able to show those affected by childhood cancer that they are not alone and even when times get tough, they can always look beside them and there will always be someone there to support them. Through dancing I have had the opportunity to perform at our local children’s hospital in Philadelphia which is my favorite event as we are able to spread joy and are able to put a smile on the face of a child going through a hard time through our common love of dance. As an ambassador I would not only like to spread joy during the holiday season and make a child smile, but throughout the year because families affected by cancer it’s a 24/7 battle. As a captain of my schools miniTHON we go by the motto, “One day we will dance in celebration, until then we will dance for a cure”, and I will continue to honor this motto throughout my life until no more of my friends or any child get diagnosed with cancer.
