Why Gabrielle wants to be a voice for children fighting cancer:
So many dancers today do not realize how lucky they are. Sure, gorgeous feet and flexible limbs are impressive, but what’s more amazing is what we are able to do with the bodies we are given. Because our bodies are our instruments, we so often take our health and fitness for granted. There are so many children out there who have been dealt very different cards. Throughout the years I’ve been involved with raising money and awareness for childhood cancer research by performing at children’s hospitals and even teaching dance classes with Jay’s Hope. These experiences have shown me that childhood cancer not only affects its victims, but the lives of all who know them. Seeing the way dance lights up those kids and their families’ faces is a feeling like no other. I would love to continue be an advocate for this cause on the collective journey to put an end to childhood cancer.
