Why Desa wants to be a voice for children fighting cancer:
My dad was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer a few years ago. Our world was flipped upside down. We had to get him a special kind of treatment and fast but at the time the insurance Company wouldn’t cover the cost. My family had to make the difficult decision to move my dad out of state so he could receive the treatment he needed. My mom flew back and forth 2 times a week to take care of my dad and me and my little sister. It was really hard on us but we kept going (and dancing)! Through our experience I hope to encourage anyone affected by cancer. There is strength and comfort in the power of hope!
